    September marks the 5th Annual National Preparedness Month, and the Yuma County Office of Emergency Management is reminding our community that it is the perfect time to prepare. The Yuma County Board of Supervisors will proclaim September as Preparedness Month in Yuma County and encourage everyone to plan, prepare and stay informed about potential threats.

    Antwone Fisher to bring message to Yuma “All children can succeed, no exceptions”

    The Yuma County Juvenile Court believes all children are capable of success, and have begun partnering with the City of Yuma, Yuma County schools, faith-based groups and businesses to spread this message throughout our community. It is these partnerships that are bringing Antwone Fisher, whose life was the inspiration for a major motion picture starring Denzel Washington, to speak to over 1,300* young people and adults at Gila Ridge High School on September 8th.

    VOTING made EASIER - No time Election Day? Try this WEEKEND!

    Primary Election Day, August 26, 2014, is next week, and the Yuma County Recorder’s Office is keeping their doors open this weekend to help residents make their vote count. This weekend, August 23rd - 24th from 8 a.m.- 5 p.m., registered voters can cast their ballot at the County Recorder’s Office, 410 S. Maiden Lane. Staff will be available to answer voter registration questions or issues and will also be available to resolve early voting issues or concerns for voters that have moved and not received their ballot via mail.
