To Accomplish Our Mission
The Health District employs over 100 professionals who are dedicated to protecting the health and well being of Yuma County; led by the Director, Becky Brooks, and supported by the Administration Division.
The Environmental Health Division performs over 4,200 public facility health inspections at schools, restaurants, hotels, public and semi-public pools, retail food stores, mobile food vendors, and food distributors annually. Mosquito surveillance and control activities are conducted county wide, including responding to "green pool" complaints.
The Women, Infants, and Children program provides services to over 8,600 county residents monthly.
The Nursing Division provides immunization, HIV, tuberculosis, family planning, communicable disease, and home health services to over 23,000 residents annually.
The Health Promotion Division's various programs conducted over 71,000 contacts last year.
The Public Health Emergency Preparedness Division prepares emergency response plans to respond to public health threats and emergencies from various sources, both manmade and natural. Educates the public, businesses, and organizations on preparedness matters.
